Enphase and Prets bring energy storage and financing together

From 1 January 2027, the Dutch net metering scheme will end. This will make it increasingly important for homeowners with solar panels to use more of the electricity they generate themselves. A home battery can help, but it also raises questions. How much will the investment cost? How will I pay for it? What financing options are available? And which option best suits my situation? To provide clarity at exactly that moment, Enphase Energy and Prets are joining forces.
After attending an Enphase information session, interested homeowners can use Prets to explore their financing options. This brings technology and financing together at the right moment.
Getting more from your own solar energy
According to Enphase, nearly half a million Dutch households now use an Enphase solar system. For these homeowners, the end of the net metering scheme is drawing closer. Through information sessions, its installer network and the collaboration with Prets, Enphase aims to help homeowners develop a plan that works both technically and financially.
Sabbas Daniel, senior vice president of sales at Enphase Energy, sums up the goal of the collaboration: helping homeowners leave an information session with a plan, a price and a clear path to installation.
Making financing part of the decision
A home battery or a broader home energy system upgrade requires a significant investment. Not every homeowner can or wants to pay for it entirely from their savings. Exploring the available financing options can also be time-consuming. Each scheme has different conditions, and applications often involve a considerable amount of paperwork.
Through the collaboration with Enphase, Prets gives homeowners a clear overview of the available financing routes. Depending on whether the property, measure and applicant meet the applicable conditions, this may include the Dutch National Heat Fund. Final availability and terms are determined by the National Heat Fund or the relevant financing provider.
Prets then guides the homeowner through the application process, from gathering the required information to completing the application file. The installer does not have to take on the financing process and can remain focused on the technical solution and its installation.
“With the Prets.io platform, homeowners can now access the financing application process soon after the Enphase event, when they are already inclined to move forward,” says Eugene Lubbers, CEO and co-founder of Prets.
One clear route. Made easy.
The collaboration between Enphase and Prets brings information, installation and financing closer together. Homeowners gain clarity sooner about what is technically possible and financially feasible. Installers work with better-prepared customers without having to become financing specialists themselves.
That means a good plan for a smarter home energy system no longer has to stall because of the payment question. From information to insight. From insight to getting it done.
